Philippine Beef Adobo: Paleo

Ingredients:
1.35 lbs. 'grass-fed' beef sliced thinly 
(ask the butcher to slice it thinly)
3 dried bay leaves
4 and 1/2 garlic cloves smashed
1 c water
2 T  Braggs Liquid Aminos
 (a no-salt soy sauce alternative, but soy sauce can also be used)
1 T apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp. annatto powder (optional)

Procedure:

Put the beef, water, vinegar, soy sauce, bay leaves, and garlic in a pot.
Add the annatto powder.
Simmer in low heat for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until very tender.

Note: This is usually served with  steamed rice.
(I eat this with steamed veggies)

Add the annatto powder
(available in Asian shops or online - optional)


Simmer.


 After 2 minutes 


After 1 hour and 20 minutes on low heat (simmer)


Serve 



Or cook with spinach.
Enjoy.

Note: 
This is a beef adobo with a twist. 
Normally, we cook this using pork or chicken and we do not normally put annatto.
We serve this dish with steamed rice in the Philippines.

I ate 8 ounces of this beef adobo dish which i ate with spinach i dropped in the pot.
